Our Services

Individual Therapy

Healing looks different for everyone. I work with you to understand the experiences, beliefs, and patterns that are keeping you stuck — and to build the insight and skills needed to move forward. Using trauma-informed, evidence-based approaches grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy, our work together is tailored to who you are and what you're carrying.

Couples Therapy

Not sure if therapy is the right next step, or whether CORE Integrative is the right fit for you? I offer a free consultation to answer your questions, talk through what you're looking for, and help you decide how to move forward. There's no pressure and no commitment, just a conversation.

Relationships are among the places where we feel things most deeply, and where old wounds often resurface. I work with couples to improve communication, rebuild trust, and develop a shared understanding of each other's experiences. Whether you're navigating a specific conflict or a longer pattern, therapy can help you find a way through together.

Tiffany G. Townsend, PhD

I became a psychologist because I believe people are more than their struggles, and that with the right support, real change is possible. For more than 25 years, I have worked with individuals, couples, and families navigating some of life's most difficult moments, bringing a trauma-informed, culturally responsive approach to every therapeutic relationship.

I earned my PhD in Clinical Psychology from George Washington University, and I am licensed to practice in Maryland, Washington DC, Virginia, and Georgia. I’ve held appointments and leadership positions at some of the country's most respected institutions, including Georgetown University Medical Center, Penn State University, and the American Psychological Association. That breadth of experience informs my clinical work in ways that go beyond the therapy room. I understand the systems, pressures, and identities that shape people's lives, and I take them all seriously.

My primary modality is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, integrated with other evidence-based approaches within a holistic, client-centered framework. I specialize in anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, stress and burnout, relationship challenges, and life transitions, with particular expertise working with people of color and women. I also developed a stress-reduction program for African Americans with hypertension, now available on the Calm Health app, and I am the author of Weathering the Storm: Navigating the Anti-Social Justice Wave.
